The Kit Carson County Sheriff's Office is located in the county seat at Burlington Colorado and covers 2,162 square miles. We were founded in 1889, one of 64 counties in Colorado. The 2013 census shows a population of 8,037 citizens. Kit Carson County includes the towns of Flagler, Seibert, Vona, Stratton, Bethune, and Burlington. We cover Interstate 70 and Highways 24, 59 and 385. The Sheriff's Office includes law enforcement, detentions, court house security, and victim services. We are committed to citizen safety and satisfaction while building the trust and confidence of the people we serve.
